We had posted a month ago about an upcoming TOWNWIDE event in October.. We did have to tweak the date a bit, so please mark you calendars for October 13 & 14-
Why? We have teamed with UNH Cooperative Extension to have a Community Profile Weekend open to all Greenville Residents.
What does this mean? On Friday night, we will have a community supper, most likely potluck-- This will give everyone a chance to have a yummy dinner and talk with their neighbors before the program begins. After dinner, we will talk about what our community wants to see happen in town. This is an amazing chance to get your voice heard, get involved and help make a change!
We will break into a number of small groups to talk about what is important to US as a town. After Friday night's session, the staff at UNH will gather all of the data to come down with 5 or 6 most "popular" focus groups.
On Saturday morning, we invite everyone back for a light breakfast and then we get down to work in our focus groups to start to come up with a plan on how to make things start happening!
We will break for lunch that will be provided to you before wrapping up for the day.
UNH Cooperative Extension has been working with NH towns/cities for many years to help aid them in working together to revitalize community spirit and identity. 12 years ago, Greenville did work with them and formed committees to affect change. A Tax Committee was successful!! Our Beautification Committee came from that weekend and is still thriving.
Proof that this DOES work! The time for this is PERFECT for our town.
More details will be coming in the next few months! We will have teams out talking about this Community Profile Weekend, so please feel free to approach and ask questions! We need all of you to make this successful!
If you are interested in joining in now to help organize, please let us know! If you cannot at this time, but would still like to in the future, we will need people as it gets closer to the date to help out with food, logistics, etc.
