Beautification Committee Seeking Members

Hey, Greenville Friends!

We all know the familiar adage “Many hands make light work!” and the Greenville Beautification Committee has surely benefitted from the help of dozens of people since the committee’s inception fifteen years ago.

The once-upon-a-time gravel and weed filled sides of Main Street have become pleasing gardens from spring through fall.  The committee of volunteers maintains the bridge boxes, the Village Green across from Town Hall, the triangles at the intersections of Mill and Chamberlin Streets and at Temple Street and Dunster Avenue, the strip near the depot, the lawn area and planters at Town Hall and the planters at the Veteran memorials, at the police station and post office.  The Greenville Beautification Committee is the primary sponsor of the Holiday Tree Lighting festivities.

Over time the membership has changed . . . some people have moved; some have had more pressing obligations; some have felt they have done their share.

The Beautification Committee members are enthusiastic about another season.  We have plans.  We have money.  But we are shorthanded and do need your help!  This is a “feel good” community effort for a family or an individual.  Just a couple of hours a month, if that, will make a huge difference.  Please call the Selectmen’s Office (878-2084) for a referral to us.

Thanks!
