Building Inspector/Code Enforcement Officer

The Town of Greenville is seeking highly qualified applicants for the part-time position of Building Inspector/Code Enforcement Officer.  

This position requires excellent verbal and written communication skills in interactions with residents, contractors, and colleagues, as well as careful record-keeping abilities.  Responsibilities include reviewing construction plans and specifications, issuing building permits, and inspecting work for compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local laws on all types of residential and commercial construction/renovation, as well as proactive enforcement of local zoning and ordinances.

The ideal candidate will have knowledge of Federal and State codes relating to building construction, understanding of local zoning compliance and procedures, and be ICC certified or certifiable.  Professional experience in the building trades is a plus. Hours are flexible and varied, averaging 20-25 hours per month. Salary is commensurate with experience.

LIFEGUARDS

The Town of Greenville is looking for certified Lifeguards.  Starting pay for is $12.50/hour for senior guards (age 18+) and $10.00/hour for junior guards. Additional compensation for WSI certification. The Town also reimburses successful candidates 50% of the cost of their lifeguard course in year one of employment and the other 50% in the second year of employment. Weekend and evening work is required.
