Employment Opportunity - Building Inspector

The Town of Greenville is seeking highly qualified applicants for the part-time position of Building Inspector/Code Enforcement Officer.  

This position requires excellent verbal and written communication skills in interactions with residents, contractors, and colleagues, as well as careful record-keeping abilities.  Responsibilities include reviewing construction plans and specifications, issuing building permits, and inspecting work for compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local laws on all types of residential and commercial construction/renovation, as well as proactive enforcement of local zoning and ordinances.

The ideal candidate will have professional experience in the building trades, general knowledge of local zoning regulations, general knowledge of Federal, State, and Town codes relating to building construction, and be ICC certified or certifiable.  Hours are flexible and varied, averaging 20 hours per month. Salary is commensurate with experience.
